now and again i get into some conversation with somebody who wants to ask me advice about something i know about, and i'm like "well, personally i do this, of course you could just do xyz, but who has that kinda money" and it turns out they do have that kinda money
like a few times over the years. i get into a conversation about like. hi-fis, stereos, listening to music. speakers etc. because the 'audiophile' stereotype is like, an old rich guy, and i'm not old, so they assume i must be rich, and they start trying to relate to me by telling me all the things they spent ungodly amounts of money on. and i'm just like "that's pretty cool i guess. my stuff is from ebay and a guy down the road called nigel. most of it doesnt work lol"
you see it with all kinds of stuff. cameras too. you ever take a picture with a camera? and tell someone about it? and they're like "hey that's really interesting. it's really curious you chose to use that lens. in fact the combination of equipment you use is quite unusual, i'd like to hear more about your unique approach" and you have to be like "look buster, im using this crap because i can't afford anything else"
*youtuber voice* at only $1799, this product is a great budget option for those who are just getting into the hobby, and are maybe thinking about trying out an entry-level model
@jk "These 'budget' speakers are $599 each and make a good entry-level bit of kit for the kids".
